Ligue 1

Ligue 1 is the top professional football (soccer) division in France, operating under the French Football Federation (FFF). It was established in 1933 and is part of the larger French football league system. Ligue 1 features 18 teams that compete annually, and the league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Ligue 2, the second-tier division. Teams earn points based on match outcomes—three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion of Ligue 1. The league is known for its competitive teams and has produced many renowned players and clubs, contributing significantly to both domestic and international football.
