Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two opposing teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The game is played on a diamond-shaped field with four bases arranged in a square. The objective is for one team, known as the offense, to hit the ball and score runs by successfully running around the bases, while the other team, the defense, aims to prevent runs by getting batters or runners out. The game consists of nine innings in which both teams have a turn to bat and a turn to field. Players score runs by touching each base in order, returning to home plate after touching first, second, and third bases. Baseball is characterized by its use of a bat to hit a pitched ball, and the defensive team uses a ball to try to make plays such as strikes, catches, and tag outs. The sport has a rich history and is often referred to as “America’s pastime,” as it is deeply ingrained in American culture and has a significant following worldwide.
