The Almeida restaurant, inaugurated on May 5, 1981, is already well known to the population of São João da Madeira. At the helm of the establishment is Mrs. Alda Fontes Rios, for whom the restoration has no secrets. Looking now for the success of this restaurant is curious to think that the business started as a joke, with nothing designed. Almeida, the Sanjoanense gem owner and product of the ADSanjoanense formation, was for the time captain of this club (that at the time joined the 1st division), which allowed him to 'collect' a myriad of stories from the world of soccer. It was precisely with the telling of these stories that it all began. The space already existed, the motto was defined and thus they began to gather friends to delight in these same stories. All this combined with good tidbits and good wine. It was there that the wife, D. Alda, appeared, who brought her contribution, with her fairy hands for cooking. All prepared to inaugurate a cozy, relaxed space, where the theme 'sport' was privileged. The grilled entrecote with a special sauce (D. Alda's secret) is the most appreciated and sought after delicacy. However there are other options: veal roasted in the oven with roast potatoes and bean rice, grilled sea bass with potatoes to punch among others. The desserts? These are to lose your head: passion fruit pie, wafer cake, puff pastry with soft eggs ... All with a homemade and maternal drink. Any meal at the Almeida restaurant seems to be long: after enjoying the meal, having coffee and feeling the sun kiss on the face, we just want to sit back and rest the rest of the afternoon.
